Memories should be providing us with hope and a future

I stood and watch them march right by,

They heads were held so proudly high,

They took some steps they'd taken before,

In Memory of those who died on foreign shores.

They didn't ask for honour,

When they signed up for their war,

They didn't sign to lose a mate,

or to open up Hell's Gate.
